    The Port Harcourt Refinery in Rivers State has officially started processing crude oil, marking a significant milestone in Nigeria’s energy sector. According to Femi Soneye, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), the refinery will operate at 60% capacity and process 60,000 barrels per day .

    Soneye expressed his excitement about this achievement, stating that it signifies a new era of energy independence and economic growth for Nigeria. He also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the NNPC Board, and the leadership of GCEO Mele Kyari for their commitment to the project .

    Truck loading is also set to commence on Tuesday, and the NNPCL is working to bring the Warri Refinery back online soon . This development comes after a series of failed deadlines for the commencement of production at the refinery in Nigeria’s oil-rich Rivers State.
