Tinubu Launches 2025 Armed Forces Emblem and Appeal Fund

  • Senator George Akume: N500 million on behalf of government officials
  • Godswill Akpabio: N200 million on behalf of the National Assembly
  • Chief of Defence of Staff, Christopher Musa: N50 million on behalf of Service Chiefs and the Inspector General of Police

President Bola Tinubu has launched the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Emblem and Appeal Fund, recognizing the military’s vital role in protecting Nigeria’s unity, stability, and progress. At the launch ceremony, Tinubu commended the armed forces for their commitment to combating threats to national security, emphasizing that peace and development cannot be achieved without security.

The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is commemorated annually on January 15 to honor fallen heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice in protecting Nigeria and its citizens. This year’s event will mark the second edition under President Tinubu’s administration.

Upcoming Events

The 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebrations will include a wreath-laying ceremony, where President Tinubu, his Vice, Senator Kashim Shettima, Senate President, and Chief Justice of the Federation, among others, will pay their respects to the fallen heroes.
