The Acting Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Olatunbosun Oluyede, has revealed that President Bola Tinubu did everything possible to save the life of Late Chief of Army Staff, Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja. Lagbaja, who passed away at 56 after battling an undisclosed illness, was described by Oluyede as a “selfless leader” and a man of “passionate dedication to Nigeria”.

Oluyede expressed deep sorrow over Lagbaja’s death, stating that “his death is highly regrettable” and that “under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the country did everything possible to keep him with us” ¹. He highlighted Lagbaja’s legacy of courage, thoroughness, and professionalism, and urged Nigerians to celebrate his dedication and contributions to the country.
