President Bola Tinubu welcomed UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, David Lammy, at the State House in Abuja, reinforcing Nigeria’s dedication to strengthening bilateral ties with the UK. Tinubu expressed gratitude for King Charles III’s warm reception during his visit to London and emphasized the importance of unity and inclusivity in their shared history.

Lammy conveyed Prime Minister Keir Stammer’s interest in Africa’s growth and development, highlighting the need for new partnerships to tackle emerging challenges. He praised the strong relationships between the two countries, built over many years through shared values and the Commonwealth.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, outlined the agreements signed with the UK Foreign Secretary, focusing on growth, jobs, security, migration, and people-to-people links. These efforts aim to bolster the UK-Nigeria relationship, already strengthened by the ETIP signed earlier this year.
