Tragedy Strikes in Kano: Two Dead, Two Injured in Building Collapse
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has confirmed a devastating building collapse in Kano’s Fagge Local Government Area, resulting in two fatalities and two injuries. Dr. Nuraddeen Abdullahi, NEMA Coordinator for the Kano Territorial Office, reported the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Upon receiving the distress call, NEMA swiftly deployed a rescue team to the scene. The team rescued four individuals, comprising a husband, wife, and two children. Unfortunately, the two children succumbed to their injuries, while the couple was rushed to the Armed Forces Specialist Hospital in Kano for medical attention.
Search and rescue operations are ongoing to locate any remaining trapped individuals in the collapsed two-storey building at Noman’s Land. The response efforts involve a collaborative team from the Kano State Fire Service, Police, Red Cross, NSCDC, SEMA, and other agencies.
