  • The FRSC has stepped up advocacy and sensitization campaigns, urging commuters to take responsibility for their safety.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has issued a warning to passengers to be cautious when boarding vehicles, particularly during the festive season, to reduce the risk of road crashes. Corps Marshal Malam Shehu Mohammed emphasized the importance of passengers being aware of their surroundings and ensuring their drivers are not under any influence before or during trips.

Recent crashes in Jebba, Kwara State, and the Owo-Ikare route have highlighted the need for passengers to be vigilant. Mohammed noted that these crashes were often caused by driver negligence or recklessness, as well as passengers’ failure to report suspicious behavior to the FRSC or other security agencies.

To mitigate these risks, the FRSC has intensified its advocacy and sensitization campaigns, urging commuters to take responsibility for their safety. This includes being mindful of drivers who show signs of recklessness and drunkenness, and reporting any concerns to the authorities.
