The Niger State Police Command has arrested Fatima Dzuma, 27, for allegedly killing her husband, Baba Aliyu, 25, in Katcha local government area ¹. The arrest was made between December 24, 2024, and January 4, 2025.
According to SP Wasiu Abiodun, Police Public Relations Officer, Niger Command, preliminary investigation revealed that the couple had an altercation on the fateful day. The wife used a pestle to strike her husband on the head during the altercation, resulting in his death.
Additional arrests were made in connection with other crimes in the area. Aminu Amale, 45, was arrested for allegedly demanding N9.5 million from a farmer in Mariga local government Area. Three suspected armed robbers, Jibrin Ndako, 19, Haruna Abubakar, 20, and Aliyu Abdullahi, 18, were arrested in Minna for planning to burgle a provision store.
Abiodun stated that the suspects would be transferred to the state CID, Minna, for further investigation and prosecution.
